I received a lovely email from Big-Name Editor today. Her door wasn’t flung open, but it appears to be cracked still, which has my heart singing.
BNE had a positive reaction to the characters, dialogue and concept, then offered a revision suggestion regarding POV to bring the ms closer to what she prefers. Mind you the change would be a big undertaking, and she pointed out another editor might like it as it is now.
She then, and here’s where the crack comes into play, wrote if I was open to those suggestions she’d be happy to read the chapters again.

While I’m willing to do whatever revisions it takes to make ms stronger, I think I will wait until I hear back from Dream Agent. I’ve requested specific feedback on that issue. Even if DA declines to rep me, I’ll at least have two more highly respected, impartial opinions.
And now, back to the happy dance
